COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Two South Carolina residents are being told to see their doctors after being exposed to a rabid raccoon. The state Department of Health and Environmental Control said Wednesday the cases in the Simpsonville area involved a captive raccoon that tested positive for the potentially fatal disease. The two people were exposed to the rabid raccoon Monday at the facility housing the animal and a veterinary clinic where the animal was euthanized. read full story
