Ford Recalls Over 1 Million Cars
ABC News

(NEW YORK) -- Ford issued four recalls affecting more than 1 million vehicles on Thursday.

The company says most of the recalls are to fix steering problems in SUV's that could result in the loss of power-assisted steering while on the road.

Models involved include the Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, and Ford Explorer.

Another of the recalls involves all-weather floor mats from Ford or Lincoln dealers-- for use in multiple models spanning many years-- that can come into contact with the vehicle's accelerator pedal if not installed properly.

Ford's move follows many high-profile recalls this year, especially from General Motors and Toyota.
