(WASHINGTON) -- President Obama spoke with Petro Poroshenko, the newly-elected president of Ukraine on Tuesday to discuss unity and reform in Ukraine.
The White House released a readout of the president's call, which stated that Obama offered, "the full support of the United States," in Poroshenko's efforts to united and move Ukraine forward. Specific points of conversation included the reforms necessary to, "bring the country together and to develop a sustainable economy, attractive investment climate, and transparent and accountable government that is responsive to the concerns and aspirations of all Ukrainians."
Obama and Poroshenko reportedly agreed to continue their conversation when Obama travels to Europe next week.
