(NEW YORK) -- The NHL suspended New York Rangers defenseman John Moore for two games for his hit on Montreal Canadiens winger Dale Weise in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference final Tuesday night.
The hit occurred at the 10:41 mark of the third period, resulting in Moore being ejected from the game. The league viewed the hit to Weise's head as the "main point of contact," according to the video that accompanied the release.
Weise left the ice to receive treatment, but shortly after, returned to the game.
Raphael Diaz is expected to take Moore's place in the line up for the remainder of the series.
